One way or another, this is going to be a very busy year, for me at least. Got to get my tax return done for a start.
After that, the next few months will see new EPs from both The Craig Hughes Two and Dog Moon Howl (more news on them very soon). I’m looking into organising a series of self-promoted gigs, possibly marking the return of the old That Devil Music night. Limited edition runs of “hand stamped” CDs and tapes of my back catalogue are in the works. The websites (this one, Dog Moon Howl and Channel Nowhere) will be back in full working order and there will be regular updates over at the Ritual Objects blog.
Other stuff will also happen.
I was in the studio with Ally Tennick last Saturday recording a live-in-the-studio session for an EP release in the new year. Knob-twiddling was by Tommy Duffin.
We played seven songs from some previous releases which have changed shape somewhat over the years on the live circuit – particularly as arranged for the duo – plus a couple of covers. The initial mixes are sounding good and I’ll be sifting through them as I get them over the next few days, settling on the best takes.
Watch this space for further details.
Dog Moon Howl has been in the studio recording a new EP. Final mixes and mastering will be completed over the coming week – release details to follow.
In the meantime we’ll be opening for Lacertilia and Cybernetic Witch Cult on the Edinburgh stop of their Wizards ‘n’ Lizards UK tour. The gig’s at Opium on October 27th, 8pm.
